BETWEEN ROOMS
“Between rooms” is a short film shot in the mockumentary style. The film follows the character of René, a man who leads a hidden life in the basement of an unsuspecting elderly lady.
As the film progresses, it explores themes such as loneliness, materialism in anarchism. The film was shot entirely in Bruges with a very limited budget of €800. At the end of 2020, the film won the Best National Fiction prize at the International Social Shorts film festival in Antwerp.
The leading role is played by Niels Reynaert, circus artist with Duo Berlingo. Image and sound were captured by Daan Becu and Jacob Paassen. Wout Desaever and Nicole Verstraete completed the cast.
